ROBERT OMDAL

Robert ‘Bob' Wayne Omdal, 68, of Appleton, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, December 16 2017 after a long fight with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Bob was born on June 11, 1949 in Bellingham, Washington, to the late Ione and Roy Omdal. While attending Pacific Lutheran University, he met Elaine Greenup, and the two were married on August 28, 1971. Together they raised five sons, to whom Bob passed on his love for praising Jesus, waterskiing, enjoying ice cream, and being behind the wheel of any vehicle.  Always ready to give generously or serve practically, Bob enjoyed building, woodworking, and going on missions trips, and he was happiest when he lived out his faith in the Lord Jesus by serving others with those gifts. His other passions included collecting John Deere tractors, grilling the perfect salmon, and asking his sons for more grandchildren.

His laughter, hugs, and joyous singing will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Bob is survived by his wife Elaine of Appleton, WI; sons: Eric (Alyssa) of Neenah, WI; Paul (Christy) of Winona, MN; David (Megan) of Minneapolis, MN; Mark (Sarah) of Neenah, WI; Tom (Chloe) of Denver, CO; brother: Larry (Desiree) of Seattle, WA;  grandchildren: Cyrus, Truitt, Simeon, Millie, Milo, Morris, Myer, Maggie, Nora, Lucy, and Vernon; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 27 at Appleton Alliance Church, 2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd. Visitation will be held at church from 9:30 until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Okoboji Bible Conference, Don Shire Ministries or Lake Lundgren Bible Camp.
