Obituary
Lana D. Sopel, of Neenah, age 75, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on
Wednesday. September 20, 2017. She was born January 12, 1942 in Mosinee, WI, daughter of the late Harry and Leona (Fontaine) Rohde.
Lana married Jonathan Sopel on February 22, 1964 in Neenah and they celebrated 53 years of marriage together. She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother and her home was always open for daycare for the grandchildren.
Lana loved playing Bingo, trips to the Casino, watching game shows and she was an avid knitter.
Lana will forever be missed by her husband, Jon Sopel Sr.; their four children: Jeff Sopel, Steve
(Connie) Sopel, Sheila (Kenny) Jackson, Jonnie Sopel; six grandchildren: Sylvia (Jared) Suarez,
Brady Jackson, Heather Sopel, Karly Jackson, Austin Sopel, Hannah Sopel; a sister, Dawn
(Willie) Chartrand; five brothers: Rich Rohde, Terry (Sherrie) Rohde, Rodney (Mary) Rohde,
Dan (Betty) Rohde, Bob (Sandy) Rohde.
Lana was preceded in death by a brother, Harry (Babe) Rohde; and a sister, June Ross.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Neenah's
Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In
lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name.
The family would like to thank ThedaCare at Home Hospice for taking wonderful care of Lana.
Also, thank you to the Atrium of Neenah, Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee, Dr. Edgard Badine
and Dr. Teresa Rudolph for their care, as well. We will all miss Lana.
