Obituary

Marvin Walter Grunske, age 84 of Larsen, passed away Saturday, September 9. 2023.

Marv married his wife, Bernice, at the age of 22. They were happily married for 57 years before she passed away in 2019.

He was employed at Eggers Industries for over 40 years as a department supervisor. During that time he proudly served two years in the Army for his country.

Marv is survived by his four children: Michael (Sally) Grunske; Mark (Christine) Grunske; Linda (Brian) Getlinger; and Cathy (Paul) Christopher. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Kimberly (Adam) Castro; Alysha (Tyler) Smith; Joshua Grunske; Joseph (Melissa) Getlinger; and Brianne Getlinger. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Logan Castro; Isaiah Castro; and Robin Smith. Marv is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Larson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Grunske; his parents, Charlie and Emma Grunske; and brother, Alvin Grunske.

Marv moved to Larsen with his family in 1983. He loved to work outside in his yard. He raised chicken and geese but enjoyed raising his goats most of all. His vegetable garden was something he was proud of and enjoyed doing every year.

Marv had a wonderful core of neighbors that he always spoke of. Dean Rieckman, Sandy Dixon, and all of his neighbors were family to him. Truly wonderful people.

A funeral service for Marv will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

My sympathies to my cousins and all who mourn his passing. I will miss my uncle greatly. It was my wish to attend the funeral but Nancy and I are both testing positive for Covid and would rather not chance giving it to others.
