LESTER QUICK

Lester R. Quick, of Menasha, age 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, November 2, 2017.  He was born January 1, 1943 in Appleton, son of the late Lester and Edna (Funk) Quick.

Lester married Vicki Murphy on February 16, 1969.  She preceded him in death on March 15, 1990.  His sister, Donna Morth (John), also preceded him in death.   Lester worked for American National Can until his retirement.

Survivors include his four children: Kimberlee Grant and her fiancé, Gregg Tatge, Shannon (Chad) Rucynski, Robin (Kody) Keberlein, Jerod Quick; also a dear to his heart, daughter-in-law, Emily Quick; five grandchildren: Mikaela, Samantha, Ella, Ryne and Elise.

He is further survived by siblings: Terry Quick, Clay Quick (Jean), Jeff Quick (Faith), Michelle “Mickey” Quick, Denise “Dee” Quick.

A brief visitation will be held at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 4pm to 6pm. Following the visitation, we will be celebrating his life at Jitter's, downtown Menasha.

Today our lives come to a halt as we try to say goodbye to you. This is so much harder than we expected it to be. I wish that we had a time machine to take your grand-kids back in time and for them to see what an amazing man and father you were. So many memories we would love to share with them... The way you smelled after you put your aftershave on. Your huge love for history and your even greater love for QVC. Your patience and calmness and how you never raised your voice at us, even when we deserved it. How we would wake you up when we were sick and your snuggles and a glass of 7UP were like a miracle cure. We would do anything for them to see how you used to pull over and help every stranded driver that you saw, on the side of the road, even when you had someplace to be. Your heart was so huge and it was warmer than the sun. We love the way that you would do anything for anyone, without hesitation, and your generosity was immeasurable. We are so grateful that you showed us how to accept all people, from all walks of life, with no judgement. No matter how the years have changed our relationship, they will never steal our memories. We will carry the best pieces of you, in our hearts…for always. What gives us peace, is knowing that you and mom are together again. Cheers! Thank you for being our Dad!
