LUCILLE LUEBKE

Lucille Grace Luebke, 101, Neenah, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Heartwood Homes in Appleton with her daughter-in–law Trudie and son Emory by her side. She was born on the family farm in Mikesville in the town of Clayton to the late William and Augusta Radloff.

Lucille was a proud member of 4-H and won a state championship in sewing which was rewarded with a trip to Washington D.C. to participate in the national 4-H competition. Lucille had her own band “The Mikesville Merrymakers”. She played the organ, Hawaiian guitar, accordion and xylophone. She met her future husband while they were both 4-H leaders. Lucille married Harold C. Luebke on December 29th 1945 at The First United Methodist Church in Neenah upon his return home from serving in WWII.

Lucille and Harold both had a strong interest in flowers and growing plants. Together they started Meadow Lane Greenhouse in Neenah. They owned and operated the greenhouse/floral shop for approximately 40 years. Lucille's beautiful floral arrangements, corsages and wedding flowers brightened many lives.

Lucille loved to talk with others and she loved an “adventure” whether the adventure was going to a movie, car ride to anywhere, looking at the homes decorated for Christmas or trips to Alaska, Eagle River, or New York.

Those who knew her will always remember her beautiful smile and her kind and gentle ways.

Lucille will be deeply missed by her son Emory and daughter-in-law Trudie; nieces: Judy Shuler and Helena Radloff.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Harold; parents; brothers: Clarence (Marie) Radloff and Bernard Radloff; sisters: Esther (William) Greinert, Edna (Edwin) Schroeder and Hazel (Ely) Breaker; niece Bernice Greinert; nephews Eugene Radloff, and Fred Shuler.

The Funeral Service for Lucille will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church (108 W. Doty Ave., Neenah) with Pastor Rebecca Henry and Pastor Tony Fuller officiating.  Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  Interment will be in Clayton Cemetery.
