LINDA WEINKE

Linda L. Weinke, of Neenah, age 70, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 1, 2017.  She was born February 17, 1947 in Glendale, WI, daughter of the late Joseph and Wilma Benke. 

Linda graduated from Nicolet High School in Glendale and then from UW-LaCrosse with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. 

Linda married James Weinke on July 29, 1967.  He preceded her in death on December 4, 2011.  She taught Physical Education in the Neenah School District for 10 years before having two children. Once they grew she then worked at Tri County Ice Arena teaching figure skating lessons while continuing to raise her family.

Linda loved to spend her summers at Silver Lake with friends and family fishing, boating and just relaxing with a book by the water.

Her and Jim enjoyed traveling to their favorite casinos and going to the local supper club for dinner and drinks. They also shared a love for collecting gems and creating jewelry for friends and family.

Later in her life Linda loved to knit scarfs, hats and baby blankets for friends, family and local hospitals. Linda read every day.  Her favorites included romance novels and national news.

Survivors include her children: Doug (Trish) Weinke, Bree (Eric) Steif; two grandchildren, Kaelyn and Hunter Weinke; two grand dogs, Emma and Sophie; a sister, Chris Gelb; a brother, Peter Benke; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Weinke.

The Memorial Service will be held at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.  The visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until the hour of service.  In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
