ROBERT RIVET

Robert ‘Bob' Rivet, 78, lifelong resident of Neenah, passed away in Appleton at Cherry Meadows on December 27, 2017. Bob was born June 15, 1939 to Wilbur and Viola (Belongie) Rivet. He attended Neenah High School until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1956. Bob was honorably discharged after serving 2 years of active duty and went on to get his GED. On April 11, 1975 he married the love of his life Kathleen Wohlers, at St. Mark's Church, in Neenah. She preceded him in death January 19, 2011. Bob worked for many years at Banta Corporation.

Bob was a friend to everyone and knew no stranger. He had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, a sharp wit, and a mischievous smile. He was a hard working husband and father, rarely missing his children's swim meets or other activities. He always cherished the Boy Scout adventures and family trips with his kids, and the time spent with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, pontoon boat rides and playing cribbage with an Old Fashioned at hand. He was an avid Brewers, Badgers and Packers fan and often relaxed by watching an old time western movie. In his younger years, you would find Bob and Kathy at their hangout the Raveno.

Bob is survived by his son Brian (Mary) Rivet and daughter Erin Rivet; brothers- and sisters-in-law Debbie (Ike) Andrews, Mark (Carol) Wohlers, and Mike (Chris) Wohlers; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, including his furry companions Corby, Meeko and Winnie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy; mother-in-law Elizabeth Wohlers; father-in-law Hubert Wohlers; step father-in-law William Bero; brothers: Lawrence, James, Ambrose, and Tony (Virginia) Rivet; sisters: Marcella (Ray) Kiesow, Rosalie (Sy) Swederski, Grace (Charles) Heinz, and Janet (Donald) Sohrweide.

At the request of Bob, a private family celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Bob can be expressed by making a memorial donation in his name to the ThedaCare Hospice Foundation. 1818 North Meade Street, Appleton, WI 54911.
