ALFRED JOHNSON

Alfred Einar Johnson, a former resident of Morton Grove, Il, and Fort Myers, Fl. passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at ThedaCare Regional Hospital in Neenah, Wisconsin. Al was born on August 2, 1928 to Peter and Inga (Anderson) Johnson and grew up in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Tilden Tech High School in Chicago, Al continued his education at Tampa University and finished with a degree at DePaul University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Golfing, playing tennis and spending time at his summer home were some of Al's favorite pastimes. He was a loyal Cubs and Bears fan. He was always discussing baseball, football and basketball scores and strategies with his grandsons and his great grandson Joey. He was a sweet and caring man with a charming wit and a smile that never quit. Many life lessons were learned from Al. He taught his children to work hard, care for others and to always do your best. He was a man of strong ethics, who always looked on the bright side of ever situation. His family will remember him with love, wonderful memories and to continue practicing the prominent virtues he has passed along.

Al treasured his family, especially his wife Carole of 66 years. They worked as a team through raising children, owning and working a Commercial Laundry and Dry Cleaning business and took many wonderful trips together. 

He will be missed by his loving wife, Carole; daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Buchta and their children, Peter (Katy) Buchta, Kristen (Brian) Musser and John (Marissa) Buchta. Son, Craig (Mary) Johnson and their children, Heather (Stephen) Fryman, and Christopher Johnson. He was blessed with 5 great grandchildren, Joey, Ella, Caleb, Emma and Reagan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Stan Johnson. 

A family memorial will be planned for the summer. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Tri-County Dental or a charity of your choice.
