SHIRLEY NIELSEN

Shirley G Nielsen, age 89 of Menasha, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018. She was born to the late Gustaf A Peterson & Albertine E Surprenant on August 26, 1928 in Russell, MN and married Leeland Nielsen who preceded her in death. Together they had 5 children. 

Shirley proudly worked as a lab & x-ray technician & later settled in Menasha where she worked for Best Bakery & then Manderfields Bakery. She always had something to give to anyone who might stop over, whether that was a listening ear or an amazing home cooked meal made to order. She treated everyone as though they were her own & would gladly make sure everyone was taken care of. The house door was always open with her smiling face behind it. She was the center of the family and was a wonderful home-maker in her later years which resulted in delightful homemade jams, breads, deserts, and meals. Shirley had a large role in her grandchildren's lives. Many summers were spent at the cabin in Mountain, WI swimming, picking berries, and 3-wheeling leaving lasting memories for the family. Shirley provided a love that will be dearly missed by all and her memory never forgotten. 

Shirley is survived by her 5 children: Terry (Char); Nanette (Louis) Pagel; 
Craig; Daniel (Catherine); & Bruce (Lynnette); 10 grandchildren: Dana, Sara, Drew, Christine, Mike, Allison, James, Mark, Jennifer & Austin; & 14 great-grandchildren: Chase, Connor, Brooke, Eli, Avia, Blake, Chloe, Payton, Violet, Sean, Trent, Joslyn, Cable, & Isaac.

A memorial gathering for Shirley will be held at 12:00 NOON on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Neenah Labor Temple (Lucky Dogz), 157 Green Bay Rd. with Rev. Tony Fuller giving a message of remembrance. A light lunch will follow.
