Obituary
Nancy R. Johnson, of Appleton, Wisconsin, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Peabody Manor. She was born Nancy Sue Rowe on January 20, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Paul and Floyd (Venerable) Rowe. Nancy was raised in New Albany, Indiana. She attended Eastern Kentucky University and worked for the Indiana University Medical Center following school.
Nancy married James W. Johnson Jr. on November 24, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana. They relocated to northwest suburban Chicago where Nancy was a frequent volunteer at Northwest Community Hospital and a member of the hospital's Women's Board. She was also an active member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization).
Survivors include her husband, James; her son, James W. (Tammi) Johnson III; granddaughter Hanna Johnson; grandson Luke Johnson; her twin sister Mary Lou Hart (and her husband Tom Hart); her sister-in-law Shirley Rowe; brother-in-law Robert Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Bill Rowe; sister Martha (Rowe) Merrill (and her husband Lindsey Merrill).
