MIKE PAUL

Michael John Paul, Age 72, died peacefully at his residence in Greenville, WI January 28th, 2018.  Michael was born September 29, 1945 in Merrill, WI to the late August and Elsie Paul.   Michael was raised Merrill and after graduating from Merrill High School, he followed his older brothers to Neenah, WI, began his employment at the former Wisconsin Tissue Mills and started a family.  He was passionate about the labor movement and helping the American worker and was eventually elected as President of the Fox Valley Area Labor Council. He held that position for many years until his election to the office of Executive Vice President of the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO in 1994.  Michael retired in 1996 after a debilitating illness rendered him unable to work.  

Michael is survived by his three daughters: Gina Paul, Michelle Doule, and Georgia Daney (Steve); six grandchildren: Stefan Solis, Whitney Borden (Nick), Chloe Olson, Alison “Al” Saadi (Luke), Lilyann and Gabriel Ogden; three great grandchildren: Layla and Lincoln Borden, Melody Remmel; two sisters: Irma Stine and Joyce Jawson; and three brothers: Walter Paul, Fredrick Paul (Beverly), David Paul (Jan) as well as his many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Michael is preceded in death by eight siblings: Adeline, Ursulla, Giesla, Robert, Donald, Margaret, Lester, Alfred and Herbert, and by his Grandson, Grant Ogden.

A private family service was held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 by Michael's children and grandchildren.
