Obituary

John Charles Deising, 98, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. John lived a remarkable life of joy, resilience and a heart fulfilled by all family gatherings. He embraced every moment, making them brighter, memorable and fun.    

John’s love of life spanned time at the family cottage at Okauchee Lake, downhill skiing in his 70’s, golfing, bowling, countless Packer games and cribbage tournament wins.  He gave to others through: the Elks, president of the State Automobile Dealers Association and head of the Fond du Lac YMCA board.   

He was born February 10, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Erwin and Gertrude (Hecker) Deising. John began working in the family automobile business in Milwaukee and then moved the dealership to Fond du Lac. John and his late wife Marcia (Hanna), 29 years, went on to have 5 children. He later married Carole Schubart, and the two spent 26 years together until Carole's passing in 2008.

He was survived by his children: Jane Jordan, David (Kari) Deising, Ann Moon, Lynn (Dan) Wier; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; step-children Mark and John Schubart.

John was preceded in passing by his late wives: Marcia and Carole; son: Steven; son-in-law: Ron Moon; parents; sister: Ruth Godar.

Visitation will be held on February 19, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W Doty Avenue, Neenah, Wisconsin. The memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 am at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.

John will be remembered fondly for the warmth he shared with those around him.

My sincere sympathy to the entire Deising Family. My fond memories of your dad was his compassion for life. His kindness towards others, making everyone feel special, and the fun he contributed to. May your memories carry you through. He was such a wonderful man and I am privileged to have known him. Rest in peace Mr. Deising.
