Obituary
Francis A. Mulvey, age 91, passed away on Saturday afternoon, November 29, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. He was born on July 3, 1923 in Bear Creek, Wisconsin, son of the late Lawrence and Veronica (Phillipi) Mulvey. Francis graduated from Neenah High School in 1941, and enlisted in the Army Air Force shortly after where he proudly served his country during WWII. On June 10, 1953 he married Addie L. Lathrop at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. The marriage was blessed with two daughters, five sons, and 61 wonderful years. Francis, Addie, and their family raised sweet corn and white-faced polled herefords on their farm in Allenville. The couple then sold the farm in 1997 after 33 years and moved to Neenah. Francis retired 4X Corp. F.K.A. Courtney and Plummer as an accountant after 44 years of service. He was a charter member of St. Gabriel Parish in Neenah, and a proud Member of American Legion Post 33. Francis enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling, playing harmonica, sheepshead, the Packers, and the Brewers. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Addie; his daughters: Sharon Mulvey, Madison; Julie (Dennis) Von Holzen, Winneconne; sons: Jerrold Mulvey, Oshkosh; Edward (Jean) Mulvey, Neenah; Alan (Linda) Mulvey, Bradenton, FL; Todd (Amanda) Mulvey, Long Lake, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Coleen, Scott, James, Kristen, Jamil, Jennifer, Denise, Heather, Dr. Katie, and Amy; several great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He is further survived by his sister, Eunice Green; brothers: Lawrence (Janet); Merlin (Kay); sister-in-law, Kathy Mulvey; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by an infant son, James Louis; daughter-in-law, Diana Mulvey; son-in-law, Frantin DeMontmorency; sisters: Carol (Elwin) Gloede; Hazel (Elmo) Halla; brothers: Harold (Jeanne); James; Russell (Regina); and brother-in-law, Ronald Green. The Funeral Mass for Francis will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel Parish (900 Geiger Street, Neenah) with Father Larry Seidl officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah, where Military Honors will be performed. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the Alzheimer's Association in Francis' name. For their loving care, a special thank you to Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, especially Ainsworth Hall 2nd floor for your care and compassion. Thank you to ThedaCare at Home Hospice for you special care also. The family would also like to thank Todd and Amanda Mulvey for the wonderful care given to Dad and Mom for the last couple years.
