Obituary
Catherine Phyllis (Dustin) Kitzerow, age 87, passed away peacefully after 5 weeks of home hospice care, in Neenah, WI on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. She was surrounded by her devoted husband of 69 years and her loving family.
Katie was born May 7, 1930 in the Town of Weston, WI to the late Wyman and Dorothy (Stoff) Dustin. She graduated from Wausau High School in 1948. On May 3, 1949, she was united in marriage to Eugene F. Kitzerow at St. Mary's Church in Wausau.
Katie loved children, especially babies. She was a wonderful, loving mother, whose biggest joy in life was raising her 7 children. She also took pride in babysitting for other family's children when her children were grown. Katie enjoyed spending 30 summers with her family and friends at Jellystone Campground in Sturgeon Bay, traveling with her husband and friends on many trips including cross-country Amtrak train trips and 15 long winter-break trips to Spain where she enjoyed walking by the Mediterranean Sea. More recently, she loved her Friday trips to the Oneida Casino in Green Bay.
Katie is survived by her husband, Gene; children Daniel (Julie) Kitzerow of Panama City, FL, Laura (Joe) Wojcik of Cavour, WI, Sarah (Daniel) Holtz of Lindenhurst, IL, John (Vicky) Kitzerow of West Bend, WI, Diane (John) Knecht of Franklin, WI; a sister, Dorothy Raymond of Wausau, WI; 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen; son, Steven “Kip”; brother, Paul Wyman Dustin.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 660 Division St., with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. A visitation for family and friends will take place at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM with a Prayer Service held at 6:30 PM, and again at the church on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund to Theda Care at Home Hospice has been established.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff at Theda Care Home Hospice, Valley VNA and Atrium Rehabilitation.
