Obituary
Paul J. Marksman, age 91, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born on February 7, 1927 to the late Joseph and Theresa Marksman and resided in Menasha. Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was in the Korean War. On February 21, 1953 Paul married Doris Porath in Neenah. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, two daughters, and 62 wonderful years. He was a member at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church in Menasha for over 50 years. Paul worked at Neenah Paper for 33 years and also owned Marksman Auto Sales for 25 years while working at the mill. He enjoyed going out to eat, traveling, going to auctions, and taking Sunday rides with his family. Paul was a family man at heart and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his children: Kenneth (Kim) Marksman, Linda (Thomas) Wettengel, Nancy (Gary) Robbins, Karl Marksman; grandchildren: Julie (Eric) Weinbrenner, Ryan (Amanda) Wettengel, Jason (Krystal) Wettengel, Jeff Robbins, Brian (Mary) Robbins, Steve Robbins, Brad Marksman; great grandchildren: Kaylee, Lauren, Liam, Beckett, Hayden, Sofia, and Cole; brother Earl Marksman; sister-in-law, Dolores Hartzheim; brother-in-law, Ed (Char) Porath; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Marksman, infant son, Donald Marksman; sister, Ruth (Joseph) Mann; sister-in-law, Lila Marksman; brother-in-law, Howard Hartzheim; and parents-in-law, Ella and Elmer Walbruck.
The Christian Funeral Service for Paul will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, 829 Appleton Road, Menasha with Rev. Phil Hunter officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
