Obituary
Cloyd J. “Bear” Thede, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 29, 2018. He was born on August 19, 1939 to the late John and Pearl Thede in Three Lakes. Cloyd married Judy Doucette on February 11, 1972 and enjoyed 46 years together. He worked for many years at Kimberly Clark and retired from there in 1996. After retirement, Cloyd enjoyed working as a bus driver for Lamer's and had the pleasure of driving his grandchildren to their many sporting events.
Cloyd was always an active person. In his younger years, he was a talented fast-pitch softball and basketball player and continued to stay active as he got older. Cloyd loved camping with family and friends in Red Granite as well as traveling across the country with the Americanos Drum and Bugle Corp. in support of his daughter. He was an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers and was known as the world's greatest cheater when he played cribbage. Cloyd always looked forward to his monthly breakfasts with his friends and being social. He was truly a family man at heart and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was the best Papa that anyone could have asked for.
Cloyd is survived by his wife Judy Thede; children: Tammy (Terry) Wittmann, Debie (David) Wright, Scott (Kathleen) Sell, Kristi Sell, Cori Thede, and Tara (Dave) Corson; grandchildren: Bryon Robbins, Christopher (Renee) Robbins, Danielle (Chris) Shackelford, Cloyd Thede III, John Thede, Loryn (Shawn) Acord, Jarrett Thede; Taylor, Tierney, and Teagan Wittmann; Milan and Nicole Preradovic; Brennen, Braden, Brycen, and Brock Ward, Amon Odin Corson; Alysha Engstrom (Travis), and Alex Hecker. He is further survived by 21 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
He will be greeted in heaven by his sons CJ and Juan and his daughter Barb Fels; twin-brother Claude Thede, and parents-in-law Robert and Viola Doucette.
The Celebration of Life for Cloyd will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, 1140 Appleton Road, Menasha. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
