Sending my sympathy to all.

We were saddened to learn of Darlene's passing through fellow frat brother from college, Gerry Tietz. We are not able to attend the memorial or visitation, but our thoughts will be with you, Brian and family, as you navigate this period. May the years of good memories sustain you.

As a child, my favorite memory of Darlene was her ribbon salad.  I cannot remember if it was 7 ribbons/layers, or 10 - or even 150.  What a salad!  That salad was the most beautiful food I'd ever seen (and holds true 40 years later). She made it when we came to visit.  Now, as an adult, I understand that beautiful rainbow salad required planning and precision - it wasn't just a side dish thrown together at the last minute.   Each ribbon took time, each layer required patience.   Darlene made that salad with love.   And she made it for us.     All our love, Karen (and the other Thiessens)

Bryan, Some days it seems like yesterday since I was together with you and Darlene; other days it seems like the sixty plus years it actually was. I wish I could be there now to tell you how important my memories of you and Darlene and the other members of our fraternity group are to me today. Know that my heart and prayers will be with you during this difficult time. Don Stephenson
