SHARYN BUHL

Sharyn J. Buhl, age 68, of Appleton passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, May 28, 2018.  She was born on August 22, 1949 in Volga, South Dakota, daughter of the late Lewis “Joseph” and Olive Mae (Piculell) Haanstad.  On November 25, 1972 she married John E. Buhl at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha.  She was a very energetic, adventurous, well-organized woman.  In years passed she enjoyed camping, fishing, and time spent at the cottage.  Sharyn's true passions were motherhood, being a grandmom, and any and all opportunities to work with children.  Her last working position outside of the home was for seven and a half years at Christ the Rock Church in the children's ministry.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, John; daughter, Jacquelyn (Jason) Van Patten, Menasha; granddaughter, Sophia Lottmann, Menasha; brothers: Jeffrey (Kathy) Haanstad, Hartland, WI; Mike (Liz) Haanstad, Spearfish, SD; and Rick Haanstad, Edgar, WI. She is further survived by her mother-in-law Mildred Buhl, Menasha; brothers-in-law Jim (Karen) Buhl, Fox Crossing; and Jeff Buhl, Salt Lake City, UT.

A service to celebrate Sharyn's life will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, casual attire welcomed.  Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  In lieu of flowers, all donations in Sharyn's name may be given to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
