CARL DUESTERHOEFT

Carl John Duesterhoeft, age 69, of Neenah, left us peacefully while at his home on Friday, June 15, 2018, with his son, Aaron and daughter, Courtney, (who were playing Carl's beloved game of cribbage), at his side.  He was born in Sheboygan, WI on June 9, 1949 to Art and Martina (Hartmann) Duesterhoeft.  He grew up in New Holstein with his twin sister, Carol; sister, Mary; and brothers: Bob, Don, Tom.

Carl later studied at the Milwaukee Art Institute, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design.  He had a wide range of jobs throughout the years; he started his career at Downers and moved on to Jansport, Colortex, Calibans, Dunham Express and lastly, Cannova's.

Carl will be remembered for his SHARP wit, extreme, yet realistic pessimism, strong claim of having “no friends” and his pure adoration for the game of cribbage.  What was most impactful, his attention to detail in his art and creative cartooning along with his classic “one liners”, will stick with us the most.  He was able to touch many, young and old, while leaving a lasting impression and making us laugh.

He is survived by his daughter, Courtney (Travis) Glennon, and their children: Evan and Isaac; his son, Aaron (Heidi Ciske) Duesterhoeft, and his son, Henry Monroe; as well as many other family members and friends.

Please join us to “sit & suck”, and remember Little Carl with family and friends at his self-titled “Good Riddance Party”.  We encourage everyone to dress in a Hawaiian shirt and bring drawings, photos, memories and anything else reminiscent of Carl.  His favorite music, foods, beverages, movie clips, and videos of Carl will be part of his celebration on Sunday, September 23, 2018, from 1:00 PM until who knows what time,  at Greene's Pour House, (formerly Calibans), 134 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Neenah, WI, 54956.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Carl's name.

Carl's children would like to offer a special, heartfelt thank you to the following for the special things they did and strength they offered throughout Carl's lengthy illness:  Heidi Ciske, Sam Luna, Emily Wrase, Stephanie Nagel, Steve Pratt, Mory, Tom Duesterhoeft, Pam Rohm, Holly and Tim Hoks, Dr. Anthony Phillips, his Nurse Practitioner Melissa, and his team, as well as the the ThedaCare Hospice team.
