ROBERT HANSON

Robert John Hanson, age 87, of Menasha, Wisconsin entered in to the house of the Lord July 2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 4, 1931 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Robert and Angeline Hanson. Robert enlisted in the military, serving in the United States Army as a Private First Class and then Corporal during the Korean conflict.  Robert married the love of his life, Shirley Hartfiel, September 21, 1965. He was a devoted employee of Menasha Corporation for 50 years; he was also cleaning staff with Bethel Lutheran Church - Menasha for a time as well. He enjoyed spending time with his wife tending to their beautiful flower gardens, spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren participate in their activities, bowling, and watching the sports teams he loved: the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Giants.

Robert is survived by his children: son John (Sally) Hartfiel, their children Robert and Natalie; daughter Kelly (Harley) Simon, their children Joshua and Kristin; daughter Tammy (Todd) Hanson, their daughter Stephanie; son Jeffrey Hanson (friend Cynthia Kraft); sister Betty Sadowska. He is further survived by many cherished family members and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Ann (nee Hartfiel) Hanson; his parents Robert and Angeline Hanson; infant grandson Samuel Hartfiel; sister Margaret Birling and brother-in-law Gerald Birling; brother-in-law Richard Sadowska; father-and-mother-in-law William and Anna Hartfiel; sisters-in-law (infant) Cynthia Hartfiel, Mary Kruse, Patricia Christiansen; and brothers-in-law Donald Hartfiel and David Christiansen.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 829 Appleton Road, Menasha, Wisconsin with The Reverend Phil Hunter officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.  Interment with military honors will occur at Resthaven Cemetery following the service.
