LARRY MYER

Larry R. Myer, age 66 of Neenah, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer early, Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born August 27, 1954 to the late Frank and Mae Myer in Clintonville, where he graduated in the Class of 1973. In his own words, Larry wrote the following:

“So, I wanted to say something about myself and get away from a traditional obituary. Sometimes it is hard to talk about yourself because you know yourself so well, that you do not know where to start. Let me give it a try to see what kind of image you have about me through my self-description of my life. I hope that my impression about myself and your impression about me are not so different. Here it goes…

I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like my daily routine and Thursday date nights with my wife, Shari. I am so blessed with my wife Shari who is incredible at making memories.  I love making memories and spending time with my daughter, Jill; grandson, Nate; granddaughter, Kate and son-in-law, Dan. I like to read Archie comics. I like to play guitar, to think, to dream, to talk, to listen. I like to see the sunrise in the morning. I like coffee and danish sitting with Shari in the morning. I like to see the moonlight at night (my favorite memory coming home from Fuzzy's in Door County). I like to feel the music flowing on my face. I love the guys in the band Dan, Mike, Mike, Lenny.  I like to look at the clouds in the sky with a blank mind. I like flowers in spring, rain in summer, leaves in autumn, and snow in winter. I like to sleep early and get up late. I like to be alone and to be surrounded by people. I like country's peace. I like campfires. I like binge watching TV. I like delicious food and to grill. I like people, I like our pets, and I like to laugh.

I always secretly wanted to be a song writer like Paul McCartney and John Lennon. They have influenced millions of people through their music. Yet... I am just someone who found a path in life and I'm very happy and my dreams are still alive.

I've been blessed with a wonderful, loving family, friends, and a fulfilling and rewarding occupation at F. C. Dadson. 

My best advice is to always find the humor...”

Larry will be missed by his wife of 16 years, Shari Blohm; his daughter, Jill (Daniel) Myer-Wachowiak; and by his grandchildren: Nathan James and Kate Kristine Wachowiak. He is further survived by his sister, Laurie Lindberg; his nieces; as well as by his sister-in-law, Mary (Jim) Zelhofer; and brother-in-law, Paul Spielbauer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kristine Shambeau; by his brother-in-law, Robert Lindberg; and by his father- and mother-in-law, Norm and Mary Spielbauer.

A private family service will be held in one of his favorite spots.
