Obituary
Darci L. Habighorst passed away unexpectedly July 26, 2018 at her home after a lengthy struggle with health issues. Her faithful significant other and caregiver, Don Young was at her side.
Darci was born February 5, 1973 in Cincinnati, OH to Dan and Dodie (Gilbert) Habighorst. After several moves around the country with her family, she graduated from Oak Creek High School in Wisconsin. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in communications management and technology from Alverno College in Milwaukee in 2006.
As a young girl she joined her dad and grandpa working at the Landstad Veal Co. Years later she would find employment at Patrick Cudahy in Cudahy, WI. Nine years ago, Darci met Don and moved to Neenah to make a home with him. When she became seriously compromised with heath issues, Don was there to tend to her needs until her passing.
Darci is survived by her father, Dan Habighorst of Racine, one sister, Dawn (Andrew) Nunn of Stratford, Conn; her daughter, Kayla O'Neal of New Lisbon; her significant other, best friend, and caregiver, Don Young of Neenah; an uncle Dr. Richard Habighorst (Martha Swanson) of Lafayette, CO; and aunts Carol Habighorst of Bonduel and Connie (Ken) Moran of Oshkosh; nephews and nieces: Avery, Quincy, Fiona and Siobhan Nunn of Stratford, Conn. Numerous cousins and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dodie Habighorst (Racine); grandparents, Frederick and Frieda Habighorst (Bonduel), Felix and Louise Gilbert (Butlerville, Ind.), and uncle Lee Habighorst (Bonduel).
Darci loved 80's music and dance tunes and had a special place in her heart for her therapy and rescue dogs, Jack and Theo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Neenah Animal Shelter or charity of your choice.
A memorial service for Darci will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.
