JOHN MALIN

It is with great sadness that the family of John Douglas Malin announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday August 20, 2018, at the age of 69 years old.

John will be lovingly remembered by his children; Brennan & Jessica, Garrett & Rebecca, McKenzie, and Brady. His love and memories will also be cherished by his two grandchildren, Lilia and Elliana; his brother Dave and sister-in-law Valerie, along with his former wife, Kara, her husband Jim and their son Caden.  John will also be forever remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.  John is now rejoicing in Heaven as he meets his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is reunited with his mother, Lula Claycomb & Pastor Ilah Claycomb; his father, Joseph “Ray” Malin & his wife Evelyn Malin; grandparents, Joseph and Thelma Malin; and his step-sister, Delores Claycomb.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, John moved to Wisconsin where he attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh to earn his teaching degree. John began teaching at Kimberly High School where he specialized in health, physical education, CPR, and sports medicine.  John had a passion for teaching, and continued to be a part of the Kimberly family even after retirement. John was also involved with coaching softball; powerlifting and he thoroughly enjoyed being the voice of the Kimberly Football Family for over 30 years.  John's hobbies included, cutting wood, lifting weights, fishing and hunting.  John's love of the outdoors was most enjoyed on his 30 acres in Iola.

The family would like to express a sincere appreciation to John's close friends, whom showed overwhelming support throughout his battle. We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to all the Theda Care Cancer Center Physicians, nurses & staff. Your compassion and care was unwavering and we are truly grateful.

The funeral will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Road, Neenah, with Rev. Rob Strauss officiating.  The visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established. Checks for the memorial fund can be made out to the John Malin Family, which will be dispersed to John's favorite charities; Gideon's Bible, Samaritan's Purse and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
