MICHAEL WALTERS

Michael John Walters, age 73, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018.  He was born on June 10, 1945 in Oshkosh to the late Milton and Germaine Walters.  Michael married Nancy Mae Schroeder on June 19, 1965 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, and they were blessed with 53 years together.  He worked as a Molding Supervisor at the Neenah Foundry for 35 years.  After leaving the foundry, Michael began working at the Neenah Pick ‘n Save in the produce department and found it very enjoyable. 

He loved all sports and enjoyed collecting sports cards.  His family was very thankful that he was so generous in sharing them.  Michael loved the Packers with NASCAR and golf coming in a close second.  When he wasn't doing those, he was living life to the fullest by trout stream fishing, bow hunting, camping, and most recently playing pool with his brother Tom.  He took special pride in taking care of his lawn and doing landscaping projects, placing many rocks one at a time by hand.

Michael is survived by his wife, Nancy Walters of Neenah; siblings: Sandra (Doug) Wheeler of Munising, MI, Thomas (Mary) Walters of Oshkosh, and Mary Musil of Appleton; brothers-in-law, George Perdue of Oshkosh and Elwin (Mary) Schroeder of Wild Rose; sister-in-law, Roxanne Walters of Menasha; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Raphael.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Perdue; brother, Patrick Walters; and brothers-in-law, James Musil and Wilbur Schroeder. 

The Funeral Service for Michael will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah with Rev. Jennifer Czarnota officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
