LYLE RHODE

Lyle Joseph Rhode, age 72 of Menasha, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was born in Neenah on August 15, 1946, the son of the late Joseph and Rose Rhode of Menasha. He married Linda Drown on September 7, 1968, and they shared two daughters and five grandchildren together.

Lyle was a graduate of Menasha High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he has earned several medals including the Purple Heart. His love for the outdoors had been a longtime staple in his life. He enjoyed spending family time at his cabin, taking long walks around the lake, boating, and swimming. He worked for Menasha Corporation of Neenah, and retired after 42 years of service. 

Lyle is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Rhode; daughters, Lisa (David) Zeihen and Laycie (Scott) Revoir; grandchildren: Lucy Zeihen, Jack Zeihen, Kali Krepline, Drew Krepline, and Emma Krepline. He is further survived by his sisters, Marilyn Gardner and Emily (Jim) Funk; brothers, Ron (Laurie) Rhode and Alan (Dee) Rhode; and sister-in-Law, Sally Manteufel; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Mary Schoch; and brothers-in-law, Richard Schoch and Max Drown.

The Memorial Service for Lyle will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, 1140 Appleton Road, Menasha with Rev. David Skarsten officiating and military honors to follow.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the hour of the service. He will be laid to rest at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh.    

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha or VFW Post 2126 in Menasha are appreciated.
