ROSEMARY CURTIN

Rosemary Nickodemus Curtin of Neenah, age 73, was called home to rest and be with the love of her life and husband, Michael John Curtin after a hard fought battle with Cancer.   She was a mother, friend, teacher, and confidant to so many throughout her life, who had a special gift of comfort to all she spoke too.

Teaching was her biggest passion and taught for many years at St Pius in Appleton and Hilbert Schools as a reading specialist.  She firmly believed that children who learned to read could make everyone's tomorrows better. She met Michael at Dominican College in Racine where they both graduated from, often saying her move from Michigan to Wisconsin was the best decision she ever made, because that is where she met her husband.  She received her Master's in Education from UW Oshkosh while raising four children, knowing that her quest for her own education inspired her children understanding that anything was possible when you put your mind to something.

She kept extremely busy with hobbies that included her bridge group that she participated in for over 40 years, her widows group, and many different book groups.  She also volunteered at Coolidge and Roosevelt schools in their kindergarten classrooms, Theda Clark, and for Fox Valley Literacy Coalition.

Her four children are; Jeremiah Michael Curtin (49 Ventura, CA), John Curtin (45 St Clemente, CA), Michelle “Molly” Curtin (42 Fitchburg WI), Peter and Xonanet Curtin (34 and 29 Milwaukee, WI).  She will be greatly missed by her sisters: Kathrine Patricia Tessin, Mary Hemmer, and Mary Zanon; her brother, Thomas Nickodemus; many nieces and nephews and their children. 

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael J Curtin; her parents, Katherine and John O. Nickodemus; her mother and father in law, Jeremiah and Antoinette Curtin; her sisters: Jane Williams and Ann David; and her brother, John H. Nickodemus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 320 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha, Fr. Jim Hablewitz and Pastoral Leader Mary Krueger officiating. A visitation will be held at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., and again Saturday at church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Rosemary will be interred alongside Michael in St. Margaret Cemetery.
