WALLACE HAMM

Wally Hamm was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin December 4, 1935. He grew up in Random Lake, Wisconsin with his loving parents Andrew (“Andy”) and Theresa Theisen.

“Andy” nurtured a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing that Dad passed along to the rest of the family.  He enjoyed his time on the water and in the woods with his close friend, Earl Stahl.

Wally cut short his university studies to enlist in the USAF hoping to serve in the Korean War.  His spirit of service continued as an active member in the American Legion Post #33.  He was a member of the Neenah/Menasha Veteran Honor Guard.  Wally also served as an active member in the Neenah Kiwanis Club.

During his first military assignment at Antigo Air Station, he met his wife Sally (Mach) of 57 years and began his family there.

He fully enjoyed his Air Force career retiring after 20 years at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida.  His favorite assignments were in Birkenfield, Germany which allowed for great travel and fun for family and friends.

Following his first career he put his skills and expertise to use as an electronics and computer hardware expert. He worked in this capacity at Lockheed, Raytheon and Telex before he retired here in Neenah as a digital field service manager for James River.

His greatest love; his pride and joy was his family.

His family include his three children: John (Cindy) Hamm, Brenda (Gary) Mertz, Theresa Gargala; eight grandchildren: Kelly Hamm, Zachary (Taylor) Hamm, John Hamm, Jacqueline Dennee and her boyfriend, Mike McGregor, Micah (Jocabed) Gargala, Tyler Gargala, Laura (Jeff) Goldstein, Justin(Nicola) Gargala and two great-grandchildren: Rachel and Ashley Goldstein.

Dad, we love and miss you!!!

A private service will be held for Wally with Military Honors.  In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for the American Legion Post #33 of Neenah.
