JOHN NEUMAN

John Andrew Neuman passed away quietly at home on Christmas Eve after a several years-long battle with dementia at the age of 62. He was born on February 18th 1956 in Madison, to the late Vincent H. and Gertrude D. Neuman. He was the older of their two sons.

John was the kindest, gentlest, most grateful soul that you would ever hope to know. He was truly an inspiration to all who knew him and a delight to be around. He was a man of very few vices—an occasional can of Coca-Cola, or a less frequent ice cream sundae were all that were needed to bring a smile to his face. Although John never stopped learning, after his formal education he became an assembler at Lakeside Packaging Plus, a position that brought him great pride and helped him establish a reliably solid work ethic. John was a confirmed member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neenah. He was preceded in death by his mother (1995) and his father (1998) and is survived by his brother Mark and sister-in-law Lisa Neuman, with whom he had been living since his father's passing. John is further survived by his nephew Timothy and his wife Valerie Neuman of Neenah; as well has his niece Elizabeth and her husband Thomas Dietrich of Appleton. Where there is death, there is life: John was called to his heavenly home before he could meet his two grand-nephews due to make their arrivals in February and April, respectively. John is further survived by his aunt Lois Pieper in Stoughton, as well as many maternal cousins.

Private family funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31st.

John's family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the angels of Ascension Hospice whose loving care, support, advice and constant encouragement were the glue that often kept us going. Laurie, Tyrah, Joy (among so many others), you have become part of the family and will be dearly missed.
