SHIRLEE CLARK

Shirlee Jane (Worden) Clark, age 94, passed away on January 6, 2019, following a brief illness.  She was born on October 5, 1924 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Ray and Leona (Prellwitz) Worden.  In 1942, she wed Stanley Clark.  During the first two years of their marriage Stan served overseas in the US Army in WW II and participated in the D-Day Invasion of Europe.  They were married for nearly 70 years before Stan's death in 2012.  They shared a deep love for, and devotion to, each other and had a great life together. 

In 1955 Shirlee and her family moved from Oshkosh to Neenah, where she lived until close to the end of her life.  Her greatest joys were being with Stan, being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and spending time with her family.  Shirlee always cherished her homes and kept them beautifully.  She worked periodically as a secretary over the years as well.

Shirlee and Stan enjoyed music and dancing, getting together with friends, golfing, and traveling.  They especially enjoyed their trips to different parts of the U.S. and spent winter months in Florida for a number of years after Stan's retirement.  Shirlee had a sharp mind until the end of her life.  She was an avid reader and bridge player. 

Shirlee was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Leona Worden, her mother and father-in-law, George and Mary (Doering) Clark, her sister, Beverly Behlman, many extended family members and friends. 

Shirlee is survived by her three children - son, Dennis (Juva DuBoise) Clark, Corvallis, OR, daughter, Jill (Lee) Storch, Neenah, WI, daughter Lisa (Allan) Bell, Appleton, WI; four grandchildren – Kevin (Heidi) Storch, Cumming, GA, Leo Clark, Portland, OR, Michelle(Ben) Moen, Portland, OR, and Florence (Wesley) Van Fossan, Orange County, CA.  She is further survived by three great grandchildren – Jackson and Brody Storch, Cumming, GA, and Josie Moen, Portland, OR.

To celebrate Shirlee's life, an informal memorial gathering will be held at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home on Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 

In lieu of monetary gifts or flowers, a contribution to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, or a charity of your choice in Shirlee's name, would be appreciated.  The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living Solutions in Appleton and the staff at Brewster Village for their kind, compassionate care.
