Obituary
Richard James Pomplun, age 69, formerly of Wautoma passed away Jan 12, 2019 at his home in Appleton.
He was born July 5th, 1949 in Wild Rose, Wisconsin the son of Herbert and Wilma (Bruch) Pomplun. Dick was a 1967 graduate of Wautoma High School. On his twentieth birthday proudly volunteered to serve in the United States Army and was stationed in the Republic of Vietnam. Dick owned ERA Oakcrest Realtors Inc. where he sold real estate throughout the Fox Valley until 1988, when he joined Warehouse Specialist Inc. until retiring on January 4th, 2018. He enjoyed tourist traps, grilling, walking his dog, and following the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. But, above everything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Sue Pomplun, brother Gary (Phyllis) Pomplun, sister Carol Pomplun, daughter Paula (Tim) Hella, daughter Tina Brown, son Charles (Christy) Brown, daughter Amy (Jim) Wolcott, son James Pomplun, son David Pomplun, son Bradley (Leah) Pomplun, Grandchildren: Waylon, Wyatt, Michelle, Gillian, Samantha, Preston, Jessie, Annabelle, and Joseph, Great Grandchildren: Justice and Jakzon.
Other relatives and many special friends, including Jim Bahrke and Mike Roberts, further survive him. Dick was an endearing soul who left a mark on everyone he met. Words can't begin to describe the joy and happiness he leaves behind.
Dick was preceded in death by parents Herbert and Wilma Pomplun, brother Alan Pomplun, and close friend Brian Thompson.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 3009 N. Meade St., Appleton, with Rev. Kurt Hoffman officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Lunch will be served after.
A burial will be held at a later date at Richford Cemetery in Richford, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Dick's memory.
