Obituary
Jean E. Koehler, age 93, of Antigo passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Antigo, Wisconsin on July 15, 1925 daughter of the late Reno R. and Ethel H. (Rezek) Heckman. Jean was very proud of her hometown. On September 20, 1948 she married William L. Koehler in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Their marriage was blessed with three sons and 63 wonderful years before William preceded her in death in 2011. Jean was very proud to make her house a home and care for her husband and family. After her sons moved away, Jean earned her BA in Elementary Education from UW Stevens Point. She and Bill loved to travel together, both domestically with their family and internationally; she loved painting, knitting, and gardening. Jean's greatest love was the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed telling them stories and passing on her wisdom to them. She was a sweet, generous soul; and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her sons: William (Barbara) Koehler, Neenah; James Koehler, Green Bay; grandchildren: Rachel Koehler, Fond du Lac; Matthew (Kristin) Koehler, Oshkosh; Lindsey Koehler, Oak Creek; Ryne (fiancée Jenna Thompson) Koehler, Green Bay; a sister, Lois (Charles) Krall, Theresa, WI; brothers: Thomas (Jean) Heckman, Green Bay; Jay Heckman, Milwaukee. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her infant son, Kerry John Koehler; and brother, William Heckman.
A Funeral Service for Jean will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Neenah at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Tabitha Gallatin will officiate. Friends will be received at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Jean will be laid to rest, along with William at Antigo Cemetery in the Spring of 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jean's name may be given to Raptor Education Group, Inc. N2160 W. Rollwood Rd., Antigo, WI 54409.
