Obituary

Lisa Ann Carpenter, age 56, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah. She was born on July 9, 1957 at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee; daughter of Al and Susan (Schwartz) Carpenter. She progressed normally until the second year when she was diagnosed with brain damage. Lisa eventually attended Gillingham School for special needs and also became involved with Neenah/Menasha ARC and Special Olympics. After graduating from Gillingham, she started working at Work Adjustment Services (Lakeside Packaging). Lisa was an excellent worker and had worked at the workshop for over 30 years. She resided at the Doty Ave. group home and was involved in many activities, including helping staff, coloring, watching movies and loved the group home outings (especially to get iced coffee!). Lisa had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about what was going on in the world. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Susan Carpenter, Appleton; brother, Shawn (Amy) Carpenter, MN and his children, Ben and Sam and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many good friends and one special aunt, Leah. She was preceded in death by her father, Al. A memorial service for Lisa will be held in May at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Make-A-Wish foundation in Lisas name would be appreciated. Lisas family would like to thank the staff of the Doty Ave. group home, especially Bridget and Sally, the wonderful staff at Lakeside Packaging and the nurses and staff of Theda Clarks ICU for all of your compassionate friendship and care. Lisas family donated her organs to hopefully help someone in their time of need. Lisa would have been proud to know that.
