CHARLES OSIER

Charles Osier, Chuck, died on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton after a short illness.  He was 71.  Chuck was born in Neenah on October 17, 1947, the only child of the late Norman and Grace (Dieckhoff) Osier.  He was a proud member of the Neenah High School Class of 1967.  Chuck took early enlistment in the U.S. Army before graduation and landed in Vietnam in 1968, just in time for the Tet Offensive.  Because of their 25th high school class reunion, he got together with classmate Judy Mulvey and a year later they were married.   They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past June.

Along with Judy, Chuck is survived by two sons; David and wife Michelle, Stevens Point, and Eric, West Bend.   He has four grandchildren; Carson, Brenstin, Nicholas and Grace Linda.  Chuck is also survived by brothers-in-law John (Nancy) Mulvey and Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Mulvey.  He was preceded in death by his parents and father- and mother-in-law, Harold and Jeanne (Rozell) Mulvey.

Chuck and Judy were French and Indian War reenactors and he always enjoyed making and forging the equipment they used, always “period correct”.  The trips they took to the various events in places fairly far away and close to home were always fun.  They very much enjoyed working on the committees for their class reunions, having just celebrated their 50th in 2017.  In later years, they started taking short driving trips on Thursdays and the Niagara Escarpment was a favorite destination.

When Chuck was 10 years old his parents got him a drum kit.  That started a whole life of playing the drums and he enjoyed it very much.  He was always “going to play me droooms” a la Ringo Starr when in high school.  He always said he was the world's oldest rock drummer.

The Funeral service for Chuck will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church (226 Washington St., Menasha) with Rev. Ralph Osborne officiating.  Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.  Full military honors will follow the service.  Chuck will be inurned in the St. Thomas Church Columbarium.
