Obituary
Charles E. Peterson, age 97, of Menasha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018. He was born on June 11, 1920, son of the late Beatrice and Anton Peterson. Charles was married to his loving wife, Marion Peterson for 73 years. He was in the 106th Infantry during World War II. They spent years at Boulder Lake where he was a volunteer firefighter for the Doty Fire Department. He served as president of the Boulder Lake Home Owners Association for years. He was a member of Mason Lodge 61.
He will be deeply missed by his family: daughter Julie (Larry) Birling; daughter-in-law Linda Peterson; sister Verna Messman; five grandchildren: Charles (Liane) Birling, Angie Birling, Denise (Hugh) Plappert, Darren Peterson, Dean (Kim) Peterson; great grandchildren: David, Daniel, Mathew, Mark, Deana, Justin, Grayson, Aidan, Wyatt, Maya, Tyrell, Elijah, Hannah; and one great-great grandson, Connor. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Marion Peterson; son Dennis Peterson; grandson Austin Birling; granddaughter Brenda Birling; four brothers and nine sisters.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home. A Celebration of Charlie's life will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
