Obituary
Anita L. Flenz (nee Geary), age 66, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness, into the waiting arms of her Savior Jesus in the early morning hours of Thursday May 23rd, with her husband “Mr. Wonderful” and her loving son at her side.
Anita was born in Salem, Ohio the youngest of five Geary Children and resided in Winona, Ohio in her early years. Anita then came to Akron, Ohio with her mother at a young age and attended Garfield High School. Akron, Ohio was her home until 1996 when she married her husband Michael Flenz and moved to Neenah, Wisconsin for the remainder of her life.
Anita was a lifetime member of Cornerstone Church of Akron, OH where she had many close friends whom she loved and continued to pray for daily. Anita had a caregivers' heart and spent much of her life taking care of others in their homes until illness forced her to retire. Michael and Anita enjoyed traveling together and especially enjoyed attending the Pyrotechnics Guild International conventions since they both loved fireworks. Together, they also took every opportunity to pray for others and to spread the Good News of God's saving grace through Jesus. She loved her children and grandchildren and was thrilled when her first great-grandson was born on her birthday.
Anita leaves behind her husband Michael Flenz of Neenah, WI, her son Phillip Jackson of Akron, OH, her daughter Veronica (Bill) Kassinger of Canal Fulton, OH along with grandchildren Jenna (Dan) Snodgrass, and Rachel Kassinger, plus three great grandchildren Raelynn, Hunter, and Maverick as well as two sisters Faye and June & many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Enos, father Loren Geary, brother Eddie Geary, and sister Neva Wilson, along with father and mother-in-law Ed and Stella Flenz.
Anita will be deeply missed by her loving husband and her family, but as we feel the sun warm our faces or a breeze on our cheek, we will forever feel Anita's love and a great big hug going out from heaven to her family and friends here and in Ohio. Her favorite saying whenever parting was “I love you to the moon and back” (TTMAB), often adding “a gazillion times over!” We love you too, dear Anita, TTMAB.
A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 5th, 2019 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah, WI. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. A memorial service will also be held for her in Akron, OH at a later date TBD.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for two agencies that Anita had a heart for. The Clear Blue Global Water Project providing clean safe water for needy locations and the WELS Christian Aid & Relief Organization who also provide wells for clean water. Both agencies open doors for sharing the "Living Water".
