MARION PETERSON

Marion M. Peterson, "Smiley" of Menasha, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was born February 2, 1923, daughter of the late Herman and Emma Weiland. Marion was married to her loving husband, Charles E. Peterson for 72 years and they lived in Menasha. She loved to sew and spend time with her family. Marion and her husband spent their summers at Boulder Lake and winters in Texas. We'll all miss her smiling face and Marion will be deeply missed by her husband, Charles; her loving children: Dennis (Linda) Peterson, Julie (Larry) Birling; five grandchildren: Denise (Hugh) Plappert, Darren (Angie) Peterson, Dean (Kim) Peterson, Charles (Leane) Birling, Angie Birling; 14 great-grandchildren: David, Daniel, Mathew, Mark, Deana, Justin, Grayson, Aidan, Wyatt Maya, Austin, Tyrell, Elijah, Hannah; a great-great-grandson, Conner; Marion was preceded in death by two brothers: Ed (Lucille) Weiland, Erv (Nora) Weiland; a sister, Virginia (Earl) Kohler; a brother-in-law, Richard Moran; and 11 Peterson brother and sister-in-laws and their spouses. A private family funeral will be held and interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice and their nurses for all the wonderful care and for being so friendly.
