DORIS STOMMEL

Doris M. Stommel, age 93, Neenah, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024. She was born August 10th, 1931, in St. John, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Alfred and Hildegarde (Coonen) Thiel. She married Roland B. Stommel on July 8th, 1952. He preceded her in death on March 6th,1985.

Doris graduated from Hilbert High School and Oshkosh Business College. She was employed at Neenah Foundry Company for 22 years. She was a life-long member of St. Gabriel The Archangel Catholic Church in Neenah, Wisconsin. She loved sewing, cross-stitching, and reading. She devoted numerous volunteer hours at St. Gabriel's to serving school lunches and working funeral dinners. She also volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her children: Mark (Jane) Stommel in Palm Springs, CA; Ann (Ray) Danowski in Henderson, NV; John (Barb) Stommel in Glenwood, MD; Mary (Phil) Sweeney in Keystone, SD; Jill Enriquez in Pueblo, CO, Grandchildren: Mitchell Sweeney; Taylor Stommel, Hannah Stommel, Nicholas Stommel; Josephine Stommel, Siblings: sister Carol Kloeppel; brother Donald (Lois) Thiel, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Daniel Thiel; Marvin Thiel; Arlyn Thiel, and her son: Paul Stommel.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul Elder Care for their truly loving care and kindness during Mom's year-long stay with them.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd at St. Gabriel The Archangel Catholic Church, located at 900 Geiger St. Neenah, WI 54956. Friends and family may visit from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:30am, with Father Larry Seidl officiating.
