Obituary
Carol Jean Roberts (Brown), age 95, entered her eternal rest on May 22, 2022.
Carol was born on April 5, 1927, in Oshkosh, WI to Alfred and Marcella Brown. She was united in marriage on June 18, 1949, to George “Doc” LeTourneaux Roberts at the First Presbyterian Church in Neenah. Through their 70 years of marriage, they enjoyed many things together, including golfing with friends, trips to Europe, Hawaii, and other destinations around the United States. Most important to them, however, was their time spent with one another. Together they raised four daughters.
Over the years Carol excelled at being a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. Her professional career included positions at Pinecraft, Marathon Company and Kimberly-Clark Corporation, where she made so many dear friends, many of whom she stayed in touch with for years after her retirement. Family was always the priority for Carol, however. Whether it meant sewing clothes, making Halloween costumes, or attending concerts and sporting events, she did everything with joy and love in her heart.
Carol is survived by her four daughters: Cheryl Roberts of Neenah, WI; Karen (Steve) Foster of Winneconne, WI; Jana (Tim) Neabling of Neenah, WI; and Sarah (David) Semrow of Bentonville, AR. She will also be dearly missed by her six grandchildren: Jason (Ali Moriarity) Foster, Jessica (Brad Winkler) Foster, Keith (Bri) Foster, Elizabeth (Chris Manley) Neabling, Michelle (Jordan) Mortensen and Stephanie (Taylor) Morris; and her eight (soon to be ten) great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, George (Doc) Roberts, her brother Johnny Brown, parents Alfred and Marcella Brown, brothers/sister's in-law Hugh and Hazel Roberts and Robert and Janet Roberts.
Visitation will be at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., followed by a short memorial service. The family will bury George and Carol's cremains together at St. Mary's Cemetery in a private family event on Saturday, June 18, which would have been their 73rd Wedding Anniversary.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass, where mom (and sometimes dad) volunteered for many hours.
Mom, you will be dearly missed, but we are thankful you are with dad now and back on the golf course! Thank you for being a wonderful mother, friend, and mentor.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul Elder Care and the AppleTree Unit for taking such good care of mom the last year and a half.
