GEORGE ROBERTS

George “Doc” LeTourneaux Roberts, age 98, entered his eternal rest on October 1, 2019.

George was born on July 12, 1921 in Neenah, WI to Hugh and Helen Roberts.  He was united in marriage on June 18, 1949, to Carol Roberts (Brown) at the First Presbyterian Church of Neenah.  Throughout their 70 years of marriage they enjoyed many things together, including golfing with friends, travel and most important, spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Together they raised four daughters. 

George proudly served for three years in the US Army during WWII and received two Purple Hearts during his service.

His professional career included 42 years at Bergstrom Paper Company / PH Glatfelter followed by 12 years at Directions Inc. where he was most known for his expertise around the Weber Grill.

George is survived by his wife Carol, his four daughters Cheryl Roberts of Neenah, WI; Karen (Steve) Foster of Winneconne, WI; Jana (Timothy) Neabling of Neenah, WI; and Sarah (David) Semrow of Bentonville, AR, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

George was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers Robert and Hugh, along with his sister's in law, Janet and Hazel.

The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home.  The visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.  Military Honors with the Neenah/Menasha Veterans Honor Guard will follow the service.  In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for Old Glory Honor Flight and First Presbyterian Church of Neenah.

Dad, you will be dearly missed.  Thank you for being the best father, friend and mentor. You can't pick your parents, but we definitely would have picked you every time!

Doc, thank you for 70+ of the best years of my life! I will love you forever.
