JOHN NICKEL

John E. Nickel, age 44, passed away unexpectedly of heart complications on Saturday, June 6, 2020.  He was born in Neenah to Melvin and Sharon Nickel.  He married Angela Zilisch and they were together for 22 years currently residing in the Town of Clayton.  He loved boating, riding motocross, ATVs, snowmobiles, and racing RC cars. John especially enjoyed being outdoors and attending rock concerts and cookouts with his family.

John had a heart of gold and was Mr. Fix-It Man when family and friends needed help. He was a family man who treasured the times they shared together. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him including his pets Bootsie, Roxy, Shadow, Midnight, Bert, Tiggy and Boo (and now reunited with Max).

John is survived by his wife, Angela Nickel; children, Mason and Paige; parents, Melvin and Sharon Nickel; siblings, Sandy (Jim) Meier and Dave (Lisa) Nickel; brother-in-law, Bryan (Erica) Zilisch; nieces and nephew: Alexa, Brooke, Will, and Kyra; parents-in-law, David and Karen Zilisch; dear friend, Ryan Dedering; as well as many other family and friends.

The family encourages the sharing of memories and/or pictures in the memory book that will be available at the church as a keepsake for the family. 

The funeral service for John will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church, 436 S. Lake Street, Neenah. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 pm until the hour of service.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. John will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah.

Due to COVID-19 concerns the family understands if people prefer not to come to the church.
