Obituary
Baptized January 4, 1970 Confirmed May 20,1984
It is with heavy hearts that we come together to mourn the unexpected passing of Randy Lee Erdmann on October 8, 2020 at the age of 50 years. He was born on December 5, 1969 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center and was the second son of James and Sharon (Boardman) Erdmann. He was a 1988 graduate of Neenah High School in Neenah Wisconsin.
Randy is Survived by his daughter Brianna Erdmann (fiancé Kellen Lavery), his parents James and Sharon (Boardman) Erdmann, his brother Paul (Terre) Erdmann, his niece and Godchild Samantha Erdmann, his nephew and Godchild Ryan Erdmann, his Godparents Jeanette Erdmann and Norman Wright, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition, we wish to give special mention to his best friend of 45 years, Jeff Berge, who has been like a brother to Randy their entire lives. We also wish to acknowledge his fiancée Courtney Kay Heise, whom he loved dearly. Randy was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Randy loved to hunt and fish, and also enjoyed many other sports, one of which was football. He played varsity football in high school and, being from Wisconsin, was a loyal Green Bay Packer fan. Randy was also a fan of bowling, golf, and Nascar racing. Throughout his life he enjoyed playing darts in local bar leagues, golfing with his friends (as often as he could) and racing his stock car at Wisconsin International Raceway.
Randy was a particularly gifted and avid bowler and he began teaching his daughter Brianna to bowl as soon as she could walk. Brianna grew to be an exceptional bowler herself which allowed her to bowl competitively in tournaments and collegiately. Randy's greatest joy was his daughter and he was very proud of her accomplishments and of the person she grew to become.
One of his greatest wishes for himself was to become a firefighter. He was able to realize this dream when he became a volunteer fire fighter for the Town of Neenah and subsequently for Suring. It did not matter to him how long the night was or how tough things got, as a firefighter he was always ready to do whatever he must to protect homes, businesses, and any people at risk.
Another wish Randy had for himself was to own his own bowling alley. That goal was realized when he and his business partner Russ purchased and opened Brooklyn Lanes in Suring, Wisconsin. At the lanes, he and his partner were able to reach out to the community by hosting benefits to help those in need. During his time living in Suring, he was blessed with meeting many new people and establishing many new friendships.
Randy was many different things to many people. He was a son, brother, father, uncle, Godparent, and friend. But one thing he was to all who knew him was a true blessing.
He had his own unique way of touching the people he met. He had a quick wit and was fast with a joke or a sassy wisecrack. He had an innate ability to make people laugh and to help people feel comfortable in his company. Randy was a very generous man and never hesitated to offer assistance to anyone in need. He was a man of true conviction. If he said it, he meant it. If he promised it, he did his best to honor it.
We believe that all can agree on this: his was a life well lived. Randy will forever be remembered and missed. We take great comfort in knowing that he now rests safely in the arms of his savior, Jesus Christ.
A Funeral Service for Randy will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, October 16 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating. A visitation will immediately follow the service until 5:00 P.M. Randy will be interred at Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.
