JAMES BRYAN

James M. Bryan, age 78, passed away suddenly on Sunday evening November 30th after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born June 7,1944 in Melrose Massachusetts, son of the late, Frederick and Harriet Bryan. After graduating high school, James attended Boston College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam Conflict. When he returned to civilian life, he worked doing marketing research for several companies in the paper industry and in food production companies. During this time, he also earned his MBA from Xavier University. Due to adverse changes in the marketing field and declining health, James later worked as an independent insurance agent and in security until retirement.

James married Sandra Bryan on April 4,1970 and were blessed with two sons Stephen and Michael. James and Sandra eventually divorced. James later met, and married Jeanette Anderson on November 24, 1990. James enjoyed reading, pestering their pet cat, and an annual weeklong vacation in the summer at a lake in northern Wisconsin. James and Jeanette were active members of Calvary Bible Church until memory issues made it necessary for them to move to a memory care assisted living. They remained together until his death. They experienced the one unexpected silver lining of memory loss; it is impossible to carry a grudge, when you can't remember why you were angry.

James is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jeanette: stepdaughter, Beth Schael; brother, Dr. Frederick T. Bryan; twin sister, Virginia Spannagel; previous wife Sandra Bryan; James' and Sandra's son Stephen Bryan with his children Noah, Crispin, Carina, and Caitlyn, James' and Sandra's son Michael (Caroline) Bryan, and their son Jonathan. James was further preceded in death by his uncles.

 Memorial service for James will be 12:00 PM on Friday November 18, 2022, at Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W Doty Ave, Neenah. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, Friday beginning at 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM service. Full military honors will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Calvary Bible Church Agape fund, which is used to provide assistance to local people in need.

A reception will be held at Calvary Bible Church in Fellowship Room West (room 200) from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., following the completion of the memorial service at Westgor Funeral Home. Due to other events at the church that day, please park in the west parking lot and enter through door #15 (the one with the big “Welcome” above it).
