Obituary
Arthur Lester Schneidewend passed away on March 3, 2021. He was born on November 29, 1935 at home on the farm in Bear Creek, Wisconsin to the late Paul and Ella (Drath) Schneidewend. On October 20, 1956 he married Carolyn Wohlers and they were blessed with four children, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and 64 years of marriage.
Art worked at Kimberly Clark for 37 years. He loved being with his family, playing cards, making wine, cracking hickory nuts, making Christmas wreaths, gardening, feeding the birds, hunting, fishing, winning money, taking rides to visit people, an old fashioned or two, and his favorite pastime, his large fish fries.
Art will be missed by his wife, Carolyn, by his children: Jeff (LaVonne) Schneidewend; Susan (Rick) Larson; Gloria Hermann; and Doug (Fawn Mueller) Schneidewend; by his grandchildren: Max and Andrew Schneidewend, Kara (Jack) Wepfer; Ben (Katie) Larson; Jessica (Andy) Carter; John (fiancée Andrea Alexandroni) Larson; Lance (Jess Todd) Hermann; Nicole Hermann; Megan (fiancé Mike LaCosse) Schneidewend; Molly Schneidewend; and by great-grandchildren: Franklin, Camden, Kade, Lydia, Cash, Owen, Javan, Roman, and Hailey.
He is further survived by his sister, Lila Knack; brother, Leo (Pat Rossman) Schneidewend; sisters-in-law, Ann Schneidewend and Irene Kuepper; brother-in-law, Allen (Marlene) Wohlers; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his sisters: Violet Schneidewend, Reverna Beyer; and Gladys Reinke; by his brothers, Eric, Clarence, Philip, Morbe, Leland, Paul, and Lloyd Schneidewend; by his sisters-in-law, Shirley, Pat, Magdeline, Irene, Frances, and Florence Schneidewend; Lorraine Cook; and Betty Wohlers; and by his brothers-in-law: Bob Beyer; Bob Reinke; Bob Knack; Matt Kuepper; Arnold Cook; and Hubert Wohlers.
A memorial service for Art will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 407 Oak St., Neenah, with Rev. Tony McKenzie officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name at Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at ThedaCare Medical Center, Dr. Baltz, and Dr. Meilke for all of their care over the last year.
