MICHAEL MORSE

On Wednesday evening, March 17, 2021, the world lost a good guy!  Michael Morse, age 76, died at his home with loved ones by his side after a brief illness. He was born in Neenah, son of the late Sherwin and Adeline (Blohm) Morse. Mike married Vickie Dutton (nee' Larson) on June 27, 1996.

Mike graduated from Neenah High in 1963.  He took over the family business, Morse Electronics of Neenah, where he sold and serviced two-way radios. He was a patriot, having served in the Army in Viet Nam.  Mike was privileged to be able to take two trips with the Old Glory Honor Flight - one to Washington, D.C and another trip where he was able to return to Viet Nam for two weeks with other vets in 2019.  Mike was an early riser, claiming that mornings were the best part of each day.  He woke with a smile and that smile will be missed by many! Being a kind and loyal friend came easy to Mike. He enjoyed having coffee or breakfast with friends, and especially with one good friend. Mike was an avid motorcyclist for over 50 years, he took some great trips out west with his wife and friends visiting Sturgis, Waterton Lakes, Glacier, Yellowstone, and Lake Tahoe to name a few.  

Anyone who knew Mike appreciated that he was a car aficionado!  He loved a good car show, kept his own vehicle immaculate and was a Mopar fan since his youth.  He enjoyed the Historic Races at Elkhart Lake and watching Formula One, having attended some races with his son which was very special to him.  Mike kept track of important events in his life by chronicling time with what vehicle he was driving at the time.  Later in life, he enjoyed driving BMW's and worked part-time in IT at the BMW dealership in Appleton. The Green Bay Packers were important to Mike as he had season tickets for years and was one of the people who ACTUALLY attended the Ice Bowl Game!  Mike enjoyed golf and considered himself lucky to be able to play a round at the new course at St. Andrews in Scotland.

 Mike is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Vickie; his two children: son, Mitchell (Liz) Beaverton, OR; and daughter, Michale Maxwell (Henry Huggins) West Bend, WI; three loving and beautiful granddaughters: Makaylah, Marcellah, and Makennah, who were Mike's pride and joy! His two sisters: Judy Pendleton of Brookings, OR; and Deb Vanderheiden, Menasha; a brother, Mark Morse of Appleton; many nieces and nephews; and three brothers-in-law: Kirk (Michele) Larson, Todd Larson, and Tim (Sabrina) Larson; in addition to a special lady, Joan Larson. Mike was further preceded in death by two brothers: William and Steve.

At Mike's request he will have a graveside military funeral at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King with family.  A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer or fall.  Memorials can be sent in Mike's name to Old Glory Honor Flight so other vets can enjoy the benefits that Mike did!

Mike will be missed tremendously but enjoyed a well-lived life with many friends! His generous and gentle spirit was appreciated by us all!
