JOSEPH DAMIE

Joseph J. Damie, age 64, passed away peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice on Sunday, March 21, 2021 after complications from Diabetes and End Stage Renal Failure.  He was born on December 10, 1956 to John & Margaret (Heitl) Damie and resided in Menasha.  Joe graduated from St. Mary Central High School in Menasha Class of 1975. He married Joan M. Vissers on May 6, 1989 and enjoyed 28 years together before Joan's passing in 2017. Joe retired from the Ariens Company in June of 2019 shortly after celebrating his 40 year Anniversary.

Joe loved his music, motorcycles and cars. He loved going to License to Cruise and auto races at the Indy 500, MIS and Elkhart Lake.  Joe treasured his time with family at Star Lake and the peanut brittle from Minocqua.

Joe is survived by his mother Margaret Damie, sister Cathy (Mark) Jung, niece Megan (Joe) Paalman, aunt Marie Damie and mother-in-law Carol Vissers.  Joe is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Damie, father John Damie, father-in-law George Vissers and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to thank Fresenius Dialysis Center - Neenah, the staff at ThedaCare Neenah and Appleton and the nurses at Cherry Meadows for their care and compassion.  We would also like to thank Cindy and Paul Tassoul for all their help over the years.

A memorial mass for Joe will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until the hour of the service. All attendees are required to wear a mask.
