NORMAN PONTOW

Norman E. “Rusty” Pontow, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2021, at Matthews Memory Care in Neenah.  He was born August 14, 1930, son of the late Arthur and Olive (Cole) Pontow. 

Norman often recalled using horses daily on the family farm. He met Mary Ann Holewinski while delivering candy to movie theaters in Milwaukee. They were married on August 19, 1950. Norman was most proud of his career at Kimberly Clark; he retired after 40 years of service throughout the mill.

Norman was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, boating, fishing, and bird watching. Norman and Mary Ann made many wood crafts together.  He enjoyed traveling and made it to Alaska with his children.  Norman never missed an outing with his Friday night Fish Fry group.

Norman was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann on March 23, 2015. He will be sadly missed by his four children: Lloyd (Gena) Pontow, Wautoma; Lorraine Stachowicz, Neenah; Lynn (Lee) Selle, Larsen; and Luann Rodriguez, Oshkosh; ten grandchildren, Randi, Becky, Heather, Samuel, Sara, Nick, Alex, Rose, Kayla, and Kurtis; and ten great-grandchildren; a sister, sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.  Private Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at Heckrodt Wetland Reserve.

The family would like to thank the staff of Matthews and Heartland Hospice for all their compassionate care of Norman. Dad was a man of true grace, he fought a brave battle with Alzheimer's.
