SANDRA DRIESSEN

Sandra K. Driessen, age 67, died peacefully Saturday, April 3, 2021, with her loving husband by her side.  She was born on November 23, 1953 in Neenah, WI, daughter of John L. Mischler and the late Margaret A. Cox.  Sandy graduated from Neenah High School in 1972.  Her creativity was shared as a designer at Gabriel Furniture and area florists.  Later in life she shared her love and compassion by becoming a care giver for the Valley VNA. 

Sandy was married to the love of her life, John Driessen, on September 23, 1984.  They shared 37 years of happiness, a true love story, always having each other close.  Their home was filled with family, love, and laughter.  Sandy loved nature, gardening, playing with her flowers, family camping, spending time in the Northwoods fishing, cooking, and decorating. 

Retirement years were some of the best times of their lives.  John and Sandy had many travel adventures throughout the US in their RV, including trips to Arizona, Florida, Texas and always loved to make a pit stop in Nashville for live music.  With these trips she enjoyed spending time with family, live music, meeting new friends, warm weather and her favorite was walking the beach. 

Sandy lived a beautiful life, filled with joy, giving of her time, and believing in the best of everyone.  She had a bright light, caring spirit and always lived life to the fullest.  Her warm smile and infectious laugh always made you feel joy when you were with her. 

Sandy was a loving and caring wife, mother grand and great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She shared in our family motto: “Family Is Everything.”  She cherished spending time with her children and attending her grandchildren's activities, including basketball, softball, and choir concerts.  There were many sleepovers that included grandma's cooking, playing games, and baking delicious treats.

Survivors include her husband, John Driessen, Neenah, father, John (Dolly) Mischler, Menasha; children: Sarah (Dan) Schmidt, Fremont, Anna Driessen, Neenah, Jesse Driessen, Neenah; grandchildren: Allison and Clayton Schmidt, Fremont, Katie (Jacob) Brietzke Klapps, Menasha, Ashley Driessen, Neenah; great-grandson, Mason Klapps; her siblings: Mark (Kathy) Mischler, Menasha, Tom (Sandy) Mischler, Crivitz, Jack (Sue) Mischler, Diane (Al) Morse, Neenah, Sharon (Don) Dedering, Neenah, Debbie (Pete) Ansems, Neenah, Rick (Alisa) Smolinski, Idaho, Dan (Lisa) Driessen Florida, Cathy Plath, Neenah, Pat (Cindy) Driessen, Menasha, Lorrie Davis, Neenah and Sherri Driessen, Neenah. 

Sandra was preceded in death by her stepfather, Richard D. Cox; uncle, Al Pedersen; and a brother-in-law, Marine Veteran David Driessen.

A celebration of life will be held from Noon to 3:00 PM at the Short Branch Saloon, 1102 Harrison St., Neenah, on Saturday, May 8^th.
