ELIZABETH CHICK

Elizabeth Jean (Wehrenberg) Chick passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Thursday, April 8^th, 2021.  Liz was born in La Crosse, WI, on August 9^th, 1940, the daughter of Harold and Harriet Wehrenberg.  She graduated from Appleton West HS in 1958.  Liz married William Chick in 1959 and started a family. 

Liz spent much of her time raising five children and later went to work at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah, WI.  She worked at the hospital for over 30 years.  Her coworkers were her second family, and she enjoyed many close friendships that lasted way beyond her retirement.

After retirement, she volunteered at Trinity Lutheran School and Church in the lunchroom. She met many more friends there that were forever in her heart.

Everyone that knew Liz knew that she was a nurturer at heart. She would place everyone's happiness over her own. She loved spending time with her family and friends, watching her favorite tv shows, Monk, Gunsmoke, and Frasier, and snacking on whatever chocolate candy she could find. She could mostly be found on the phone chatting with loved ones. Liz was a breath of fresh air and an instant smile to all when she walked in a room.

Liz is survived by her children:  Sue (Pat) Golden, Steve, Diane (special friend Carl), Tom, and Mike; Grandchildren:  Ryan Hoerning (Niki), Ashley Chick, and Whittney (Jered) Laue;  Great-grandchildren:  Ellie Hoerning, Emery Wuyts, and one great-grandchild on the way.  She is further survived by her sister Eleanor Brye, Coon Valley, WI;  Niece, Karen (Garland) McGarvey and nephew, Knute (Jill) Brye.  She is also survived by her beloved cat, Bella. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Kenneth Brye.

A graveside service will be held on May 8^th @ 11:00 am at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church in Coon Valley, WI. 

A memorial has been established in Liz's name for Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha, WI.
