Obituary

Gail Margaret Wisniewski, 70, of Menasha, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, while holding her husband’s hand.

Gail was born on February 7, 1956 in Combined Locks, Wis., the daughter of Sylvester P “Van” and Anna “June” Van Driel.  Right after high school, she worked at ShopKo, where she met the love of her life, David “Dave” Wisniewski, in the record department.  Their love story continued to grow, and they were married eleven years later on May 25, 1984.  Throughout their 41 years together, they enjoyed attending car shows and proudly displaying her yellow Metropolitan, which earned many awards over the years.

Gail was proud to have worked as a nurse at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center for 38 years, dedicating her life to caring for others.  Outside of work, she enjoyed shopping, going out to lunch, driving around with Dave, reading, gardening, and spending time with her loved ones.

Although Gail lived with Lupus, an autoimmune disease, for more than 50 years, those around her may not have known the extent of her struggles.  She faced every challenge with strength, grace, and a wonderful sense of humor that inspired those who knew her.

Gail is survived by her loving husband, Dave Wisniewski; her brother, Rick Van Driel; and many other relatives and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Randy.

A Celebration of Life for this absolutely beautiful person, inside and out, will be held at a later date.
