Obituary
Joan L. McCoy (Curtis), age 83 of Neenah passed away on Saturday afternoon, May 1st, 2021 in Louisville, Ky. She was born on November 6th, 1937 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Lawrence and Virginia (Jones) Curtis. On April 27, 1957 she married Clifford J. McCoy at St. Stevens Lutheran Church in Rogersville, Wisconsin. Their 60 year marriage was blessed with two sons, Rich and Randy, and a daughter, Kathleen. Joan was a stay at home mom for many years raising her family, which was the greatest joy of her life. As her children got older, she began working at the Orthopedic Clinic in Neenah. That "part-time" job turned into a wonderful 25+ year adventure. Joan was a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Neenah where she was involved in countless programs over the years. She was an avid reader and spent numerous hours knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her children: Rich (Michele) McCoy, Oshkosh; Kathleen (Harry) Hotchkiss, Louisville, KY; Grandchildren: Amanda McCoy, Kendall McCoy, Stephanie (Steve) Mayer, Donnie (Ben) Threlkeld, Alyssa McCoy, Andrew McCoy, Leah Hotchkiss, and Mark Hotchkiss; by step-sisters: Peggy (Wittchow) Berenz and Bonnie (Wittchow) Trexell; as well as by the mother of Randy's children, Doreen McCoy. She is further survived by her dear friend of over 50 years, Sylvia Lau.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cliff; beloved son Randy McCoy, who passed away in March 2020; brothers: Roger and Gordon Curtis; step-sisters: JoyLee Wittchow and Marilee (Wittchow) Stevens.
The Funeral Service for Joan will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (1140 Tullar Road, Neenah) with Rev. Jon Gallatin officiating. Friends will be received on Friday evening at Gloria Dei from 4:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. and again on Saturday at church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
